Testimonial, Heath & Tegan - 19th August 2016
When planning our wedding day (like most engaged couples) we started with a list of ‘must haves’
1. We must have the wedding in Tasmania.
Because marrying your best friend on an island shaped like a love heart it just too perfect.
2. We must have a venue with different landscapes.
We wanted a lot of variety in our photos. Because (let’s be honest) this is likely to be the only time we pay for a professional photographer. We wanted rolling green hills, a gum tree filled bush, and a long sandy beach. And (because we are needy) we wanted this all on the one site and within walking distance so we could spend the day wandering together rather than crammed into cars.
3. We must have a plentiful supply of good quality drinks.
Because we hate hearing the unanimous groan go across the crowd when the end of the bar tab is announced.
4. We must have the best food Tasmania has to offer.
For our wedding the vast majority of guests came from interstate. Many had never been to Tasmania before and had heard whispers that the food was good. So we couldn’t disappoint. We needed everyone to leave full and happy.
We picked Bangor Wine and Oyster Shed for our wedding because they had every one of our ‘must haves’. They even had two extra ‘must haves’ that we didn’t know at the time but would highly recommend now:
5. We must get married on a hill, above a vineyard looking out over the water as the sun sets.
There are no words to describe how beautiful the view was for our guests and us during the ceremony. Everyone was left amazed and speechless. All anyone wanted to do was take photos, so they wouldn’t forget the image.
6. We must work with staff that are friendly and easy to get along with.
Our wedding was planned and organized in Toowoomba, QLD. Which is almost as far away as you can be from Tasmania without leaving the country. And yet, despite the large geographical barrier everything was so easy. There was no fuss or drama; just friendly conversations and confirmations that things had been done. We loved working with Alice and her team and have already recommended them to others looking for their wedding venue.”
